I grew up in Mount Vernon, New York watching my mother, the late Mrs. Carrie Norman-Basnight prepare delicious desserts & meals for our family. It was in those endearing moments that I learned many life skills and how to express my love for creating special moments that my siblings and I still cherish to this day.

 

As a young child, I was always in the kitchen with my mother whenever she baked. She was a high school Home Economics teacher and an amazing cook and baker. Everything I learned started with her teaching me simple recipes like rolls, rugalach, minced meat cookies and pound cake. It is from this legacy that she passed down that I started experimenting with my own recipes.
